SAGE 1st Annual Tennis Tournament, BBQ & Silent Auction Fundraiser

SAGE is an organization based in San Antonio, Texas. Each summer for the past 8 years, SAGE has taken a team of approximately 85 volunteers into the mountains of rural Guatemala to provide medical care and community development to those in need.
Many Guatemalans never have the opportunity to receive medical care, and their illnesses often go untreated for years.
Over the course of 5 days, SAGE medical teams work to provide medical care to these Guatemalans. The team sees patients in medical clinics, dental clinic, vision clinic, and performs surgeries such as cleft palate repair. Last year alone, the clinics saw 1500 patients and the surgeons performed 80 surgeries!
The community development team works tirelessly to provide a makeover for 15 Guatemalan homes, installing concrete floors in lieu of the dirt floors, efficient wood stoves to replace open fires, and water filters to eliminate water-borne diseases. The end result of these efforts provide a safer, more efficient environment for these Guatemalan families to live, grow, and face the future.

TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Men’s and Women’s doubles tournament in a round-robin format. Groups will be determined by the USTA rating of each team. All teams will be guaranteed multiple matches regardless of outcome. Each participant will get a tournament t-shirt and awards will be issued to the winners of each group. The BBQ dinner is included for all tournament participants. Extra tickets available for friends & family members.

BBQ DINNER & SILENT AUCTIION
Everyone of all ages is invited to a BBQ dinner catered by Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club. The BBQ will be located on a large deck overlooking the scenic Texas hill country . There will be good food, live music, and great fun. We will have a silent auction to benefit the mission and an award ceremony for the tournament. Friends and family are welcome to attend the BBQ too.


All proceeds from this event go to support SAGE initiatives to provide medical care and community development to the people of rural Guatemala
