Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

Tiring of the parks, the waits, the behavior, the condition of the courts, I went looking for another option and learned that West Side Tennis Club @ Forest Hills is offering a huge deal to players 31 and under. If you love tennis, you should check it out. It is something else to play where the greats once played (the US OPEN was played there until the National Tennis Center was built), see the stadium, play on grass, enter the club house lined with pictures of the greats, enjoy amenities which allow me to play all day without having to leave to grab a reasonable lunch and drink. What a life!

The place has four playing surfaces (grass, red clay, hard-tru and composition), 38 courts, a pool, tennis clinics, private lessons, ball machines, tennis camps, full service bar and dining service, summer BBQs, all kinds of social events and nice, nice people. What a joy not to hear cursing, line call arguments and find so many welcoming people. As I said before, right now the club is offering an especially GREAT deal for anyone under 31. Actually, all things considered, even the regular membership turns out to be a good deal for those of us who have tired of the Hampton commute but want a place to escape to that includes fresh air and green grass.

The other good thing is that it all doesn't have to end on Labor Day.

Chris,

We would certainly welcome you but the cost would not be as enticing as for the under 31 set..  Frankly, I am not even sure what it is, though for adults, it does not come cheap.  Still, why don't you plan on coming out to the Open House we are running on June 4 between 3 and 7?   If you commit to coming, I will leave your name at the front door so they know to expect you and can plan for refreshments accordingly.

Hi Isobel

What if your 37?  I just moved to Forest Hills.  I was wondering how much it cost to be a member there?
