Would anyone like to hit in BG/AH tonight?  I can be there around 5:30-6.

Anyone playing Biesterfield (Elk Grove) today?  I cannot believe it is so nice out there and I'm not out playing...

For retail Chicagoland, I'd have to go with Golfsmith and Sports Authority.  Golfsmith probably has the most number of models for specifically tennis.  I think SA has a larger selection than Dick's, and they will often put last year's model on sale for cheap to get rid of them.

Dennis, get a tube of SHOE GOO or buy an expensive pair of tennis shoes that offer a 6 month sole warranty.  I recommend a nice pair of ASICS gel resolutions. If you like playing in running shoes .... try a light pair of cross trainers about $50 and stop dragging your toes/feet. Good luck and happy shopping.

TENNIS SHOES

Do any of you know of a really great store selling shoes for tennis?  I literally wore holes through both of my old running shoes so tossed them and grudgingly started wearing my good running shoes.  Three matches later it looks like someone took a belt sander to the bottom of them.  I estimate each pair of running shoes has about 15 uses or about $7 a use.  I love running shoes but the soles just get eaten up too fast.

So I want to find a huge store that sells shoes for tennis.  I’m NOT a fan of buying shoes online.  Electronics, computers,  etc. I can buy online but not something I wear.  That needs to be in-person.  So does anyone know of a good (hopefully large) store that carries tennis-specific shoes?  I’m willing to drive as far as Rockford or Chicago if necessary.

I'm hoping to find a shoe that breathes well like a running shoe with a lot of mesh as opposed to all leather which locks in too much heat.
