Anyone in the Houston area has one and would rent it to me for a session or two as I am considering getting one myself? Spent two hours this weekend reading reviews and for price/quality ratio it seems that SP ball machines are a good choice.

Ok Thanks. I played there a couple of times this summer, wasn't interested in getting a ball machine back then. I will call them this wekk to check if they have one of the Silent Partner series available.
I have one but I live really far away from you (far North H). While it is the best value when considering features and price, I would say that it barely qualifies as a portable machine. It is quite heavy and cumbersome. I barely fits in my sizeable trunk. That is my only complaint. All else is great. Battery life, speed, spin, remote are stellar. I had previously borrowed a tenis tutor and the battery barely lasted an hour or so.
Rickh,
Thank you, that pretty much confirms the key points of my net search. The Silent Partner series are probably the best choice for affordable ball machines with basic features but they are also pretty bulky.
Thanks again for the hands-on review and comments, some of the ones I was reading on other tennis forums sounded like they might come from actual employees of the different ball machines manufacturers.
