How does Peach vs League vs ALTA vs etc compare against groups like this and MeetUp.com?
Just curious if anyone had any upsides and downsides of the various groups. As a relative beginner I've been told it might be best to play relatively casually before jumping on a team. Figured it was a choice between this and MeetUp.com really...then later perhaps jump to a low level ALTA team. It's tough starting out when you just don't know where you rank. :)

My suggestion is play the singles leagues because you will improve faster (assuming you are getting or have had some instruction). -

Hi Chris,
Welcome to Tennisopolis. Basically, all the groups are great ways to meet players - just in different levels of organization. Tennisopolis is probably the most casual, and ALTA teams are more organized. If you are looking to meet other players to go out and hit, this is a very good place to do it. You can search through the members profiles of your local groups and introduce yourself in those as well as leave comments on members pages.
