Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

I recently started playing again after a 15 year hiatus. I played competitive doubles in high school and the beginning of college before I burned out. My strokes are coming back fast. The people I have been hitting with just aren't available enough for my renewed tennis appetite. So I am looking for more hitting opportunities.

As far as skill level goes, I have the full complement of shots to be a high rating. However I haven't caught back up to the speed of play for my own skill level.

I'm in the Gardner/Olathe area, but I am willing to drive some for a good time.

Hey Phillip, my story sounds a bit like yours...played a little JuCo and D2 college before stopping for 10 years or so...been back playing for a couple. Like you, it's been hard to find any consistent play. I'm in midtown but like those lighted courts near SM East. I'd definitely be up for some hitting soon. I'd self rate at a 4.5 I guess. Hope to hear from you, 913 206 7532

Derek, this is Mark Sinatra. I'd be up for playing again some time, maybe we could also try to get some doubles going. I should be able to give u a much better game than last time we played. I currently play at Loose Park 4-5 times a week and there are about 4-5 random players/regulars that are always there ready to play, ranging from 4.0 level to 5.0 level. I've been playing mostly singles but a little doubles as well. I'm a solid 4.0 player with 4.5 potential. My number is 913-915-1307. I live downtown KC but would be willing to travel to the plaza area to play, and possibly a little further North if the courts are not to far. I plan on playing (as i have been) almost daily, weather permitting so I hope we can play again soon! Mark
SM East and Loose Park are close enough together for me to be the same driving commitment from my location. It is something I could do on a Friday or Saturday. I work 3rd shift during the week which cuts my evenings short Monday-Thursday. A guy at work is also a former college player and lives somewhere in SM, I might be able to get him out for doubles some time.

If you guys end up at SM East and need a quick extra - I'm a 3 year hiatus 4.0 player (4.5 doubles) but live only a few blocks away from those courts.  I can't commit to a regular basis since I travel for work - but feel free to shoot me a text to check.  913-488-4681

Phillip (and Derek), I'd be up for playing some time, maybe we could also try to get some doubles going with Derek and someone else. I currently play at Loose Park 4-5 times a week and there are about 4-5 different players/regulars that are always there ready to play, ranging from 4.0 level to 5.0 level. I've been playing mostly singles but a little doubles as well. I'm a solid 4.0 player with 4.5 potential. My number is 913-915-1307. I live downtown KC but would be willing to travel to the plaza area to play, and possibly a little further North if the courts are not to far. I plan on playing (as i have been) almost daily, weather permitting so I hope to hear from you! Mark

Phillip,

We are getting ready to start our free court time (Memorial Day) over at Midtown Athletic Club in OP, and have some good promotions going on this month.  There are always people like yourself looking for a great match!  We also have free hitting lanes for members that have ball machines to help you get your "fix" if no one is available.

If you're interested I could set you up with a free session.  Just call 913-491-4116 and ask for me.
