I often need a place to play when it's cold and rainy outside. Additionally, I have a friend who is coming to town and has never played indoors before and I want to treat him to a few sets as a treat.

Does anyone know of some indoor courts in the area that are open to the public? I don't mind paying a high price or an expensive day pass to somewhere as long as I get in a couple hours on the court.

I know the PGA Superstores in Frisco and Plano have indoor courts, but the ceilings are rather low and the GM of the Plano store was a real jerk to me the last-time I was there.  They're also booked every evening for private lessons so it's hard to get any court time there. They also tag EVERY item in your bag as a security measure. It's a real PITA. Needless to say, I don't like that place.

I've heard rumors that there's a place in Frisco called FieldHouse but I didn't see any info on their site other than offering classes. I don't know if they have legit indoor courts.

For that matter, does anyone know of any courts open to the public that aren't outdoor hardcourt?

I have had a friend that played tennis indoor in Richardson area. She told me it required a monthly membership there to play. I google but couldn't find it. It is a big club and nice court. Perhaps someone else can chime in to help you out.
