Your arms are more together, up and down than his. He uses a slight scissors, toss arm up first. That's the first change in timing.
You stand far more sideways than he does. Stand open like he does, and try to lag the hitting arm. It's gonna screw your timing, because the coil you get from your regular stance is gone once you stand open. But the coil is MORE in the shoulders and pinpointing trunk and leg, and LESS in the back and abs like your regular serve
The scissors arm motion and the big pinpoint forwards motion will create the kick you want. All your weight is going forward while you are hitting upwards. This is what I've been experimenting with myself with the Djoko serve motion. The kick doesn't sit up as much, but jumps forward at the returner with a lot of weight. My back and abs physically are weak compared to my flexible shoulders and legs. You have the eight pack abs. I don't. lol
