Hi Tim, Thanks for the comment, no it will not damage the hoop, the hooks are rubberized so you can hook it up on any racket. many players including our own guys, have it hooked up to an old racket, to avoid the time to attach & detach from their main hitting racket, they just carry it in their tennis bag and hook it up to the net and warmup before the game.  I personally have one permanently it attached to an old racket and my office door now and swing while I'm calls..I hope this helps! send a note to our support an mention this post and you will get a code for free shipping! cheers !

Bart Wallace showed me a similar trick, which was to wrap a towel around his Aero Pro Drive and swing twenty or thirty times, with the regular forehand and backhand stroke. 

Is this device going to damage the hoop of the frame? I would probably only use a spare racquet.
