I agree with Coach V. You are standing too far back. You need to cut off the ball coming forwards and put him on his heels reacting to a deep return. 

You need to have a hard flat or topspin drive backhand return. Because you have a floaty slice drive return to the neutral center, he just comes in and knock the volley away with you on the run.  The open faced backhand chip with no wiper action is going to go long more often than not.

Right foot in the doubles alley, he correctly serves down the T. You get aced. The time you do slice it back by standing in the alley, he still approaches and gets you on the defensive.

In this video, you lost every scenario. Take your chances and hit a solid flat or topspin drive return. You will gain confidence to hit drives and you will see, it takes having guts for the glory.

1 you are too far back you need to be closer.

2 the serve wasnt that good when you were wearing yellow.

3 split was late.

4. important part of returning a lefty serve is having a strong backhand return. if you slice you are dead.
