The world of Twittering exploded onto the scene only a short while ago. While CNN and that Punk'd guy are finding millions of followers, there is a significant tennis scene available on the app as well! Let's take a look at some of the obvious choices, and some not so obvious. The list below will be the search name as well.
1) andyroddick - - Funny updates true to Roddick form. "i feel like i am watching a rerun of last years sportscenter..... will favre return again? my lord" - May 6th update. Note: Roddick seems to update this quite frequently.
2) bryanbros - - Another player site (x2) that appears to be updated regularly. Clearly a sense of fun going on in these tweets as well. I like this site personally, because the Bryan brothers are certainly some guys that the world just doesn't know enough about.
3) andy_murray - - The Scotsman let's loose on his twittering profile with some quality updates. "whats happening? been off twitter for a couple of days. back on it for a bit! dominated go-kart track thurs, trained today, track tomorrow." ...Who knew the guy is a go-karter??
4) usta - - lots of tennis updates from the association itself here. Nothing fancy, but good stuff when you need it.
5) jonstennistweet - - Everyone's favorite tennis expert from the CNNSI bunch. "For our american readers....both fish and blake winning on the clay of estoril." Provides news, updates, standard comments...
6) serenajwilliams - - The "true" #1 (according to Serena) is on Twitter and going strong with 100,000+ followers! A lot of the updates are personal however, so you may have no idea what is being said, and why.
7) jimcourier - - The former #1 is twittering at during exhibition matches and whenever the hell he feels like it. Worth a follow!
8) tennisnews - - Onthebaseline news/blog/commentary feed. Good site for daily updates on regarding anything tennis.
9) tennistough - - The quest of a 45+ year old player trying to reach the top 20 in the world in the over 45 category for tennis. Interesting!
10) tennisauthority - - Last but not least, The Tennis News Authority has made its way onto the Twitter scene! While I only changed the twitter name recently, I believe it is also searchable via "markoskar"...This Twitter site is clearly head and shoulders above the rest ;)
Enjoy!
