Bernard Tomic broke a record in his loss he handed over to Jarkko Nieminen (40-FIN), 6-0, 6-1, in less than 29 minutes. That's all I'm reporting.
Would someone just close all of Tomic's matches to the public and media? This may not be so fair to his opponents, but I believe only the opponent's sponsors will truly care.
Nieminen's post match interview would have gone something like this:
"How did your match go?"
"I won."
"What are your plans for the next match?"
"Well, I now have a few hours to kill. I'm thinking about heading down to the beach and catching some rays."
"Was Tomic just not up to task today?"
"Who? Is the shrimp or the grouper better here in Key Biscayne?"
"I hear that..."
"Thank you, but I would rather hear from someone who has really enjoyed the local seafood here."
"But what about..."
"I like shark too, but I can't seem to find any place that can get it right."
