Ana Ivanovic was chosen by the readers of the
German Tennis Magazine's as the best "tennis personality" of the year and won the Michael Westphal Award.
The trophy is named after German tennis player Michael Westphal who tragically died at the age of 25. Ana is the first female player who won the award. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are among the previous winners.
"It's a great honour. I was inspired to play tennis because of Monica Seles, and I know that a lot of kids look up to professional players and try to learn from them. I try to be the best role model I can be, and it's so flattering to win an award that is voted for by the fans" said Ana.
