Profile Information

I am a:
Tournament/ League Player, Racquet Stringer
Neighborhood or other helpful location info:
London
Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
I used to play weekly at high school and university but then had to stop after shoulder surgery 3 years ago. Started playing seriously again when I was in the States last year - now back in London and generally play most evenings after work. I'm around a 4.0 game (depending on my mood!) and I love the sport. I'm a lefty who plays with a fluid top-spin and enjoy playing at the net, so I'm quite a useful doubles player. I also string the odd racquet if you need help with that.

I'm a club player who's keen to hit with other competitive players - looking to improve my matchplay, but happy to just rally and work on different strokes. I'm based in Ealing, West London and the club I play at is a 20 minute drive from here, happy to give lifts there if necessary.
Favorite pro tennis player(s):
Current mens: Federer, Murray, Djokovic, Tsonga, Nishikori (rising star!)
(although I confess to using Nadal's old Aeropro Drive... must be a lefty thing haha)

Ladies: Hantuchova, Ivanovic, Sharapova

Previous generation: Sampras, Agassi, Chang, McEnroe, Henin
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
NTRP 4.5
On the court, I am a:
doubles partner, singles player, top-spinner
My favorite local courts:
David Lloyd Heston (not so much favourite, but where I play most days since they have indoor courts!)
Relationship status:
Single

Okay so I only had time to go to Academy Sports and checked out the rackets. The ones that impressed me the most were the Wilson K factor and the Prince 03 technology. I guess my question is that should I keep the strings that comes with the racket or just get it retrung right away?

Hi Ben! Played on the high school tennis team 10 years ago but have no idea what player level I am. I can say that I havea won a couple of trophies in my high school days but never took it beyond that. I am a baseliner and my shots have normally been flat with not much topspin at all. Back then I was more into accuracy and wasn't much of a power hitter. If my memory serves me right, I had a Prince racket and the string tension was at 70. I would like to add more power to my shots. I have broken strings before, however, it wasn't that often. I am not looking for a beginner's racket and am willing to purchase a racket that I can use for awhile. Thanks!

it's a dropweight machine so it doesn't need tension meter.
