Neighborhood or other helpful location info:
North San Diego
Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
Tennis:
Product developer, developer of GuruGrips.com, played college tennis at UCLA, played mini-circuits, ranked #1 NorCal 35s, instructor-coach, use slow-motion video for very technical analysis. I integrate the mental game ("hidden" game) with all competitive players in all lessons.
Student:
"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." Mohatma Gandhi. No day goes by without reading and studying tennis, success, self-improvement, philosophy lite, or business.
Occupation (What occupies my time?):
Somewhat retired but very busy. We were fortunate that we didn't spend every penny we made and retired early. My schedule is my of my own making. I don't waste too much time. I stay focused and productive most days. Some of my time is spent creating and developing tennis products. I also enjoy teaching tennis a few hours a week. When not reading, playing tennis, working out or teaching tennis, I play the harmonica an hour or more a day. In tennis ranking terms, I am a 5.0+ harmonica player and trying to get to a 6.0 or higher. It's far more difficult than I ever thought it would be. Genres: Blues, rock, country, pop, jazz. I "sit-in" with bands/groups often and enjoy improvising. Very challenging.
Favorite pro tennis player(s):
For different contributions: Federer, Ferrer, Wilander, Aggasi, Sharapova, Navratilova, Borg, Laver, Tilden...and many more.
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
NTRP 5.0, NTRP 5.5
On the court, I am a:
rightie, singles player, all courter
My favorite local courts:
My own. Life-long dream come true. We have had our own tennis court since 2001. I have two ball machines (each for different purposes). And, yes, I do use the court often. (Most court owners don't use their courts often for a variety of reasons.)
Relationship status:
Married

You have three generations of Baker's that used the Guru Grips in Palm Desert; we thought the gripiness was perfect, I do have some constructive critique for you if you want it.

Hi Scott! Welcome to Tennisopolis. I am enjoying your grips on my Prestige Pro. Haven't had to change out the leather grip.
