Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
Looking to get my game whipped back into shape. Played tennis for 20 straight years 4 to 5 times a week until I moved to Athens. Its been tough finding regulars to hit with and living in Baltimore part-time for last 2 years hasn't help, either!

Started in High School, joined ALTA at C-9 in college. Worked my way up to AA-3 where we got soundly trounced as a team after nearly winning A-2 Cities. Tried USTA 4.0, but only played one match because of back injury. About a year after moving to Athens, played ALTA A-4 for 3 seasons before taking new job with head quarters in Baltimore. No tennis at all for last 3 years, but have played lots of racquetball and squash, so I presume some form of eye-hand coordination has remained for the main game.

Looking to rediscover my tennis game and get back to playing regularly. I reckon I'm around USTA 3.0 at best these days.
Favorite pro tennis player(s):
Pete, Mac, Courier, Martina, and Chrissy.
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
Not bad., What's NTRP?
On the court, I am a:
hacker, pusher, chip-n-charger, slicer, doubles partner, singles player, whiffer, serve-n-volleyer, acer, returner, one-hander, top-spinner, grunter, moon baller, baseliner, drop-shotter, gracious winner, gracious loser, cramper

Most evenings I am free, As well as this evening i'm pretty sure i'm free and east athens is not too far from me. about 20 min or so i guess. It's so hard to find someone to hit with on a regular basis for some reason.

I don't follow tennis nearly as much as I used to. Alright, alright; I confess: I don't follow pro tennis at all anymore. Lack of cable, satellite, and over the air reception tends to put a damper on the TV viewing. ;-)

I do go to the NCAA championships when they're hosted at UGA, though. Saw some good matches this year! I am glad to see that a wide variety of styles still flourish at the college level if not at the pro level (as I hear its rumored its pretty much whoever can hit the ball the hardest the most consistently these days).

Awesome, and it will grow fast. We're getting about 40 to 60 new members a day and I'm expecting that to increase... a la the exponential...
I just wanted to say thanks for the link on your home page. I appreciate it. Also, see the box above these comments? You can add all sorts of stuff there. By the way, do you follow current pro tennis? - looks like you like the legends.

Hi Michael! Here's the canned "welcome". I'd be remiss if I didn't share it with you. If you ever need any help (but I know you won't since you seem to have figured out this whole "internet" thing), let me know.

We are all very excited to have created this "community-based" tennis social network which puts the focus on the members.

To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

If you are looking to meet people for tennis matches, Look through the Groups or create a Group of your own and invite your tennis contacts. It's a good place to keep in touch with everyone in your circle.

The Forum is really the hub of the online community. It’s is a fantastic place to get tips for your game, chat about the latest gear, and especially, talk about the pros.

Other places to explore: post youtube videos, add your own photos, write your own blog.

…and just hang out and meet great people.

Welcome aboard,
Mark
