Hey, no way, I think anything is possible, and go for it. But having been there many years ago, and seen the current talent trying for points, gotta make sure we give them some respect.

Ya, even a win in the main draw doesn't always get you a point.

Good draws in a qualie can get you a few matches but you are usually looking at 4 rounds (5 in a 128 draw?) to get into the main draw and usually you will play a quality opponent or two before you are out of the qualies.

The first point is almost impossible. The next few are easier

Correct John, and although you may get lucky and play maybe one player that's beatable, it's a battle, even in the futures tourneys. Check out this draw, first round loser no points.

and this only qualifiers get points, look at those players

Are you sure you know what your talking about?? Just to get your first point you need to advance all the way through qualifying and wwin 2 or sometimes more in the main draw of a futures to get your first (that's about 6the matches) once you have ranking you are in the main draw right away

What are you talking about?? The first one is the hardest to get. Without one you are only getting into the futures with 128 qualies

Well its not a dream... it will be a reality.( unless I something better comes along. ) I Just got to get into shape other than round and heal up my elbow out side of that there is really nothing stopping me. getting ONE  ATP point will be easy getting more than 1 Hmm tougher. But All you need is a good draw. In the summer of 1998 or 97, I almost got one by making it into the first round of a Bronx Borough classic Challenger event. But in the finals of the qualifier my Partner arm broke similar to mine, where the ligaments tore, & we were forced to Resign, he was rushed to the hospital and was out of commission for 1 year. that was the closest to becoming a ATP Pro. NOw im just a fat old man picking on  weaklings in Mens opens. Mark it is just as hard getting a gold ball National tournament as it is getting a ATP point.

Hey Coach and John, do you both have dreams of claiming one ATP point?
