inston-Salem, N.C. will host the United States’ quarterfinal tie against France in the 2008 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.
Winston-Salem was the venue for the 2007 Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal between the USA and Spain last April. The tie was played in front of sold-out crowds that made the event the third-highest-attended Davis Cup competition in US history.
"Last year’s quarterfinal in Winston-Salem was one of the most exciting events I have been a part of as Davis Cup captain and it truly set the tone for our Championship run,” said Patrick McEnroe.
USA last played France six years ago in the 2002 Davis Cup semifinals at Roland Garros, with France coming out on top 3-2.
"France has some different players now, some talented and charismatic young players, which I think will make it a great tie. Not only do they have a great team, but great individual players with a lot of flair,” said McEnroe. “We've got a little more experience than they do, but I think there are some similarities. Llodra and Clement are one of the best teams in the world in doubles, and we've got the best team, which makes it like every match could almost be like a Grand Slam semi or final.”

endls (all also coincidentally at 7 or 8). to get into the federer-sampras-laver-agassi (ONLY because he won all the slams) group, he's got to win the Open and maybe another couple AusOpens. his talent level is there - he seems to play well everywhere and his volley is pretty darn good, for a baseliner or otherwise. of course, if he has to quit early, then that'll work against him. of course, borg retired early and is still included in the GOAT discussion....…
chair told Delpo that he made a mistake, in my opinion anyway, it would have justified Delpo really letting the chair and Milos have it. But he didnt, even shaking hands with Milos at the end of it all. I don't blame him at all for being abject. Imagine if Connors, McEnroe would have been in his position. Milos would have never seen what hit him. Ugh I'm sorry. I just hate cheaters so much.…
