Correct, if I play with someone lower than my level, I am force to run and chase those drop shots, short ball and those unimaginable angles that you have to react quickly. For someone better than you, you have to keep up with the pace. But overall, Practice is the key to get better. Yesterday was not a typical tennis day, but proof that tennis is something we all can't live :-)

It's true with anything in life that you become more proficient the more you do it. For tennis, whenever you play someone who is better your game rises to the occasion. Conversely, when you play someone not as skilled you tend to take a lot of chances and make mistakes lowering your game to his / her level. Either way something is learned at each outing.

It's 60 degrees out now and would be a nice day to play except for the impending 60% chance of rain.... Black balls, no light and rain sound like an unappealing adventure you guys had yesterday!

Certainly Serge, footwork, pace, angles. 3 things I am working to get better. I have them but not good enough. This group is the best place to be to get better in tennis. Sort of like you're now in college, and this group is like a University.

Mike all you have to do to play like us is play as often as you can with people like us so you get used to the pace and angles. Skipping winter is a good idea just have to move somewhere warm ;)

It was a whole lot of fun last night and more challenging playing in the dark with brown balls before the lights turn on. Good playing with you Serge, I'm giving myself 5 more years to level you and Igor. Can we skip Winter? :-)

Nothing like playing in the rain with black balls and almost no lights. I had a fun time :) For some reason I always end up playing Igor. It was also nice playing with you Mike. Can't wait until the next season of outside tennis :D

Are you guys playing at River Trails tonight by any chance?
Comment by Serge T. on November 19, 2010 at 10:09am
I'll be there too :)

Thanks Angie and Peter, we will have about 4-6 more players there including me. If we can get all 4 courts, we can play singles/ doubles and switch players. We are all on the same level 3.5- 4.5
