Yes. Getting along and a good second serve, as you stated, are important. Knowing where to place the ball, depending on coverage on both sides of the net, is another factor to consider when evaluating a good doubles partner.

In response to your question, ("here's a killer question...what if you play really well with someone and dominate together, but you despise playing with him... would you?"). There are so many variables to consider. Relationships evolve. It is possible that your feelings of contempt could be counter-balanced by respect and admiration because no one else is capable of bringing out your best tennis, to the degree that this guy does. My biggest question is, Where do the ill feelings stem from?
