So who are the real #1s, both men and women's tour (Murray/Serena)?

Well, after seeing Murray win both the Olympics and the U.S. Open and Serena owning Wimbledon, Olympics and the U.S. Open, would you say that Murray and Serena are the real and virtual #1 for this year? 

Or would you include the results of the Masters series into your consideration and not disregard those results in your personal appraisal?
