Just wondering if there is a standard scale that people are using. It would be good to post it somewhere prominently on the site (or maybe it is and I can't find it) so everyone is using the same scale.
Thanks,
Jim B

For review at anytime of yours or another player's progression, please feel free to review our Experienced Player Guidelines, along with video instruction and a stroke-by-stroke rubric for self-rating - these are extremely handy tools for any tennis player. You can also review the Self-Rate Questionnaire in English and en español.
That is a great post Chin thanks for putting this here. I will update our page to match this if you don't mind. http://tennisopolis.com/news/ntrp-ratings-guide
Jim, the easiest way is to go out and play someone who knows their rating and then you can size yourself up against them.
These guidelines are misleading...go the USTA website where you will find the standard guide for
skill level determination...ie a 4.0 player has control, consistency, good serve...4.5 is more powerful and has more put together game...read it and you'll see the difference...5.0 players are strong tournament players...
Diane, I think these are the exact same guidelines that the USTA publishes. Do you have a link to a different guide?
