I moved this from "pro tennis" section - we THINK we are all pros, but the truth hurts. ;-)
Sounds like a great idea... and a full salaried job to run it. I won't lie and say I hadn't thought of it. It would be easier to organize thru Groups that are big here. But there is nothing easy about this. Maybe we should start with a Tennisopolis meetup where all of us go to Vegas or something some weekend and we all take our gear and play and run around town. How's that sound?
Sounds like Vegas should give you a kick back for suggesting that 33,000 people show up all at once. ; )
No, I realize this could be a very difficult thing, just a cool concept. It would be cool though.
When I lived in Texas they had this thing called "Flex League" Tennis. You signed up, played once a week at your leisure, against a determined opponent and depending on how you did, you either remained in that group, dropped a level or moved up a level. The groups were typically 10 to 12 players, and you played everyone in your group once. Tie breakers were determined on a point system tied directly to your margin of victory. It was fun. Unfortunately Arizona doesn't have that, at least in Tucson.
