Last night I was shocked off my couch as I saw the espn crawler report that Agassi admitted Meth use in his new book. Anyone know any more about that right now?

Agassi admits he wrote a letter to the ATP saying Slim accidentally "spiked" his drink, that it was not his fault. The ATP dropped the flunked test, with no discipline for Agassi. He admits in the book he felt "ashamed."

Now this is bothering me about the ATP. Though ranked in the 100's Agassi was still a household name. I always tout the ATP for their doping policy and if Agassi wrote a dopey letter nothing happened? I may have to rethink my position.
Fantastic article - definitely has me jazzed up to go out and buy the book.
Jaxx - I agree, between the lines, it sounds like the ATP swept that test under the rug. Excuse the pun!

I have been and still am an Agassi fan...I admire all that he has accomplished but I am troubled by this public confession that appears to be for the purpose of getting new publicity and selling his books. I was in the market yesterday and at the checkout stand was a magazine (People, I think) that had Agassi & wife Steffi on the cover, because of his confession, of course. I thought....hasn't Andre had enough adoration and publicity and center of attention in his life? Now this? Doesn't he have enough millions of $$ without this? What is his purpose in smearing his own reputation? I'm not buying his book. Mikee
I hear you. I go back and forth between thinking this is just a way to sell books and thinking this is Agassi's attempt to finally come clean. He is an amazing person, a great benefactor and helper of disadvantaged children. I lean to the idea that he wants to be completely honest with the world and an autobiography is the place to do it.

actually, i was about to comment "hmm, that was over quick" (seemed to blow over fast) but then i heard he was going to be on 60 Minutes.
Yeah, I saw the 60 minutes interview last night - it was very good.
when katie couric asked how many times, he would not/ could not give an answer. he said way too many, and that he was using it from like march through "deeper into the year". I think he said he used it most of that year which I would take to mean, lots of times. Anyway, i think i'm going to get the book.

Well, I'm going to get the book for sure - and not just for the meth/ wig storylines but really for the rest of it.
