The 18th Annual Worldspan Invitational Tennis Tournament


March 4-6, 2011 - Kiawah Island Resort, Kiawah Island, SC


The 18th Annual Worldspan Invitational Tennis Tournament will be held March 4th-6th, 2010, at the Kiawah Island Resort, Kiawah Island, SC. The tournament is open to all skill levels - limited to 160 players.

The tournament format will be doubles and mixed doubles. Players may enter up to two events. Please enter with a partner. If you do not have a partner, you are welcome to post your information on our Web site’s Guest Book. You MUST enter the skill level of the best player on the team. If a level does not have enough participants to make a draw, it may be moved to the next highest level OR a singles draw may be created. You are guaranteed a minimum of two matches in each event.

Practice courts will be available on March 3rd at 1:00pm. Play will begin on Friday, March 4th at 8:00am. A full consolation round will be included as court time permits. Kiawah has both clay and hard courts, and matches could be played on either surface. If inclement weather occurs, the scoring system may change to accommodate matches. Proper tennis attire is required. Bottled water will be available throughout the tournament.

A buffet lunch will be served on-site Friday and Saturday. Friday evening, the committee is hosting a South of the Border dinner banquet in the Legends Room at the Turtle Point Clubhouse, Kiawah Island. Cash bar 6-7pm, and dinner / dancing from 7-11pm.

Entry deadline is February 12, 2011. Entries will NOT be accepted after this date. No entries will be accepted without payment. Please have your partner enter at the same time as we must receive both entry forms and payment for both players to be included in the tournament. If we receive your entry after the deadline, entry/payment will be returned. Similar to last year, you can pay online via PayPal! Upon receipt of your entry and payment, your name will be placed on the ENTRANTS link of our Web site. (If not posted after 7 days please contact a committee member).

COSTS: The entry fee is $120.00 per player, which includes court fees, balls, tournament T-shirt, lunches (Friday deli style and Saturday wings/salads including beer and wine) and dinner banquet on Friday night.


Meal costs for non-players:
Adult: $40 (All meals), or $20 (Fri/Sat Lunch only), $25 (Banquet only)
Children: $15 (all meals), or $10 (Fri/Sat Lunch only), $10 (Banquet only)

**Banquet tickets will be distributed Friday morning**


ACCOMMODATIONS: Please call 1-800-654-2924 and request the Worldspan rate for the discounted room: one bedroom - $134/night; two bedrooms - $164/night; three bedrooms - $194/night. Each unit has an additional $11/day service charge plus 11% accommodation tax.
