Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):: Tennis became my favorite sport by chance. The first time I ever picked up a racquet, was an individual sports class. At the time was a senior in high school and was looking for "Easy A" classes. I think because I was decent at Ping Pong, it helped me keep the ball in play and understand that I don't need to swing for the fences like a lot of beginners do. Anyways we had an double elimination tournament in this class and apparently I was a natural. Nothing amazing I hit flat no topspin, soft serves, and was just consistent. Honestly my footwork and speed were and are my biggest weapons. I got runner up in the tournament and one of my losses was forfeit because I missed class that day. Long story short I became a tennis fanatic and started watching it on TV. Started understanding the game more how to put topspin on shots, slices, dropshots, hitting corners with serves, being more aggressive not just putting it back in play and all from watching on TV and experimenting myself. I've never had a lesson so I'm no pro but not bad for self-taught. What I like about tennis is I call it "physical chess" because there are so many choices and tactics, but not a lot of time to decide. Hit the backhand or run around and crush forehand? Topspin or flat? Lob, pass, or right at them? There are so many styles and you don't have to be the strongest, fastest, or tallest to be good at it.

Favorite pro tennis player(s):: 1) Female - Jelena Jankovic (2007 met her at Charleston Family Circle Cup my 1st professional tournament)
2) Male - Rafael Nadal (He's a grinder and tough, not particularly flashy game but he get's it done.
