Joe, after two more months are your buddy shoes not worn similar to mine?

Meanwhile I'll try shoe repair man for advice - are there any specializing in sport shoes?

Mark & Joe, thanks for helping - hope until 9.5 replacement go out of service either more reliable Vapor 10 appears or I fall in love with other reliable model.

I don't really think there is much you can do to remedy it. Getting a refund is a great option; that is fantastic that TE has offered you one.  I'd say take it immediately and switch to a different shoe (maybe an Adidas Barricade which are my favorite.)

Sam, not sure exactly when he got them but I would say about 2 months, and he plays 3 times a week. He has really narrow feet and weighs 190 lbs.

I'd try wide but they doesn't have them. How many sets did your buddy played in these shoes?

Could it be your feet are too wide for the shoe, or incorrect size shoe? One of my buddies has the same shoe, even down to the color, and his hasn't worn through.

It's Nike Vapor 9.5 and I agree with Mark's description of poor design - orange rubber part is poking into the meshy fabric and the abrasion is simply wearing the mesh down. Fortunately, tennisexpress agreed to replace it. Unfortunately, nobody proposed how to prolong life. So, I'll play one more month and ... again claim for replacement? :(

If it is not from a toe drag, it is probably just from poor design.  It looks like the orange rubber part is poking into the meshy fabric and the abrasion is simply wearing the mesh down.  Do you agree?  What brand are these?

Mark, I don't think so - holes are on both shoes.
