good call. that's my friend playing. I was thinking more of high and low strategy--going high topspin and low underspin

Your opponent loves to slug away, so let him make the mistakes. But send him lots of slower off-pace underspin shots off both sides (yes, there is forehand underspin but few people use it as a groundstroke). Let this opponent generate his own pace, and bring him in to the net, then lob him, preferably over his backhand side. The overhitter from baseline will make lots of unforced errors.....if you encourage him. Try it, see what happens. MIKEE
