we won the second set tie break. No third set. We won $500 to split.

Coleman tiebreaks are a ntrp league thing. This was an open tournament for money. We play real third sets (usually) sometimes it is a match tiebreak in doubles, especially early rounds, but never coleman or whatever.

I have only played one of those in my life. It was districts 5.0 2 yrs ago. I was playing the #1 singles player from sonoma state. Neither of us knew where to stand lol.

Coleman tiebreaks only make sense for doubles. I played 2 tiebreaks in the last month on my mixed league team. Neither of them were coleman. I think you are going to see that fade out of existence

Good match John.  Why no Coleman tiebreak?  I thought that it was standard for USTA tournaments now.
