Hi Darryl, in my country almost every Svetlana is called Ceca and that's my nickname too!
But it's to complicated to spell it on English so I prefer to be called Lana.

Hi Darryl - I think that men just want to find an attractive woman who plays tennis either just for tennis or tennis and love! Either way, I don't have any preconcieved ideas about it, I just thought it was curious that I kept getting men putting me in their friends list. If I knew it was going to be like this I would have written a more extensive bio and put up a better photo of myself! So have you made your decision about where you are going to go for your vacation?

By the way, I don't doubt for a minute that some of the guys requesting your friendship are interested in pursuing some sort of relationship with you. It wouldn't surprise me, however if they were also genuinely interested in playing tennis ... and perhaps they are looking for the aforementioned holy grail (you know, tennis playing girlfriend). I'm sure it's difficult not becoming cynical about these things being a woman and all, but a lot of us knuckledraggers really do have good intentions :-)

Ha! Given all the people who have put me on thier "friends" list in the past 12 hours I sort of get the feeling this is a dating website! Good thing I'm single then! I have met several partners playing tennis and it is fun to have something in common. However one ex of mine and I did join a tennis club together and it didn't go so well because I was a much stronger player which made for some insecurities! So the lesson is to find someone who is at a similar level as you. So what do you do in PA? I manage a marketing department for a Fortune 50 company and work mostly from home which allows me to live in such a beautiful place.

Wow you are serious! Unfortunately I work full time so couldn't play all that often but am certainly willing to play one night with you. I love just hitting as hard as I can but also like playing singles if possible. Sounds like Saddlebrook may have more tennis than here, although I'm not sure if there are resorts that have the same type of thing here. Just remember if you do come out I would recommend you do it soon as it was 100 degrees yesterday! Just let me know

Hi Darryl - Yes there are lots of tennisplayers in the desert although I know its quickly getting very warm and many of the snowbirds have gone home. If you stay at a local resort with tennis they will always match you with players - either people staying at the hotel or locals. I am new to this site but seems like you could find someone to play on here. I would be interested in playing if you decide to come out. Where is Saddleback?

Hi! It's great to have you here! This is my *new* generic welcome message that, fortunately, is required due to the enormous growth. We're growing by 100 new members a day, and I just couldn't keep up. But that's a good thing. ;-)

Invite your friends too. We’re trying to reach 20,000 members by Wimbledon. :-)
If you need any help, let me know.

You just joined a super fun and infectious "community-based" tennis social network which connects tennis players, fans, coaches, and you.

To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, or your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

If you are looking to meet people for tennis matches, Look through the Groups or create a Group of your own and invite your tennis contacts. It's a good place to keep in touch with everyone in your circle.

Here’s a primer on how to meet other players.

The Forum is really the hub of the online community. Other places to explore: post youtube videos, add your own photos, write your own blog.

…and just hang out and meet great people.

Welcome aboard,
Mark
