Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

Do you Twitter?

Twitter is the social network which asks its members to answer the famous question “What are you doing?” in 140 characters or less. It's like Facebook, minus the photo albums, applications, groups, pages, etc. It's a very simple way to connect with friends, make new ones, or just follow your favorite celebs / athletes.

Here are some of the interesting tennis Twitter members I follow:

Andy Roddick - @andyroddick

Andy Murray - @andy_murray

USTA - @usta

Fuzzy Yellow Balls - @wihamilton - Also check out the FYB2007 Youtube page, which has HD recordings of the pros warming up at Indian Wells, plus great instructional videos as well.

Forty Deuce - - blogger of Forty Deuce, snarky gossip news of the tennis world.

If you know of some more tennis pro's on Twitter, definitely let me know. If you're new to Twitter, you can check out this guide to Twitter lingo and tips for new Twitter users. And you can also follow me at @kikolani.

Hi Mark,

In response to your comment about Twitter, yes, I think that would be a great idea. It would be easy to find followers who are interested in tennis - simply start a Tennisopolis Twitter account, add a few messages, and search for & follow people talking about tennis (using Twitter search or see people who are in the Twellow directory for tennis). It's a great way to get exposure for this site, and when you start one, let me know - I'll put you in my recommendations for FollowFriday. :)

Thanks Kristi! I've been meaning to get more twittery lately. My buddy Will Hamilton (who you mention above) suggested that Tennisopolis should start tweeting. Do you think that would be a good idea? Since you are experienced, what kind of info do you think we should tweet?
