Roger Federer
Shocking first-round exit against Julien Bennetau. Federer wins first set comfortably (5-2). And like he usually does when he gets comfortable, in his mind he thinks the match is over and it is going to be an easy win, but Julien forces the second set into a tie-break and wins that one. Roger looses his composure and gets broken early in the second set, match results: 5-2 6-7 4-6 - Julien Bennetau wins his greatest match ever so far in his career. Good for him. What the h*ll is wrong with Roger?
By the way, I did not like his attitude in Basel in the match against Djokovic, somwhere around the middle of the final he gets a call against him and starts arguing with the Umpire Lars Graaf. Later on during change of side. He says to Lars Graaf:
- "Don't look away when I am talking to you, I don't like it when you do that".
The way he said it just felt rude, as if he was on a higher level than Graaf and that he must be treated with a certain amount of respect because he is ROGER. Maybe I am wrong but that is the feeling I got and I can't say I liked it.
Marat Safin
Saved 3 Match Points in the first round and got to a 2nd round match with Del Potro, lost the first set, won the second set, then could not manage to win the decider but still played quite a good match. This was his last professional tennismatch ever. It is so sad to think of it. Safin will never play in an ATP Tournament ever again. He has won in Paris three times; 2000 (d. Philippoussis), 2002 (d. Hewitt) and 2004 (d. Stepanek).
Watch this tribute from the players to Marat Safin, it gave me the chills. Going to miss this guy:

Robin Soderling
Come on Sweden! Robin played the match everyone hates to play, he faced Ivo Karlovic with the huge serve but managed to play his game and took the match in straight sets: 6-4 7-6.
He will face Nikolay Davydenko in the next round.
Rafael Nadal
In a crazy match against Nicolas Almagro, Rafa managed to save 5 M.P against him and finally won the match: 3-6, 7-6(2), 7-5. Somehow he always manages to win these match points and get the match back into his firm grip. Must be incredibly exhausting and frustrating to play against him.
Who will win the tournament this time? What do you guys think?
My picks: Djokovic, Soderling, Davydenko, Rafa....Del Potro? No, I don't think so.
