In the absence of world number one and current French Open champion Roger Federer, five time Monte Carlo champion Rafael Nadal kicks off the European claycourt season with the 2010 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, an ATP World Tour 1000 event, that starts in the royal city of Monte Carlo, Monaco on Sunday.

Nadal, a champion here since 2005, the same year which saw him triumph at Roland Garros for the first time, is struggling with his form at the moment. His loss to Andy Roddick is being considered by many as an aberration...........
