Benefitting junior tennis in the desert
Rosie Casals & Jackie Cooper Pro-Am is April 26, 2015 at Indian Ridge Country Club.
All levels of tennis players "Welcome"

Indian Ridge Country Club will host the first Rosie Casals & Jackie Cooper Team Tennis Pro-Am, an event that will include local professionals and juniors who will play in a Team Tennis Pro-Am with paid amateurs in the morning. All levels of tennis players and members and their guests are "Welcome". The proceeds will benefit the Tory Fretz-Jackie Cooper Junior Tennis Fund at Variety. Rosie is a Palm Desert resident who was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1996, is organizing the event through her company, Sportswoman Inc., to honor her friend Jackie Cooper, who was instrumental in promoting junior tennis in the Coachella Valley.

Cooper, the long-time director of tennis at the La Quinta Resort, was also known as a teacher to the stars, with a clientele that included Johnny Carson, Jackie Kennedy and Merv Griffin. Later, Cooper opened Jackie Cooper Tennis at the Palm Desert Resort Country Club, where he kept his courts free of charge for juniors.
In May of 2013, Jackie died of cancer. The City of La Quinta proclaimed Jan. 27, 2014 "Jackie Cooper Day" to acknowledge his contributions to tennis and the community.

The Tory Fretz & Jackie Cooper Jr. Tennis Fund was established in 2014 to provide financial aid through grants given to local juniors, organizations or individuals who provide opportunities that enhance and promote junior tennis in the Coachella Valley. Donations to the fund can be made through Variety the children's charities, a 501C (3).

The cost of the The Rosie Casals & Jackie Cooper Pro-Am is $200, which includes a barbeque lunch. Lunch only tickets are available for $75 each. All levels of sponsorships are also available.
The Rosie Casals & Jackie Cooper Tennis Pro-Am l will be hosted by the prestigious Indian Ridge Country Club in Palm Desert, Sunday, April 26, 2015. The event will feature a Team Tennis Pro-Am with all the local pros and juniors. "ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME".
Proceeds benefit junior tennis in the Coachella Valley through the Tory Fretz & Jackie Cooper Jr. Tennis Fund at Variety the Children's Charity. There will also be a Doubles Pro & Junior "Shoot-Out" after the Pro-Am.
