So..I'm not a video editor or anything, but I had some video of me at the Legg Mason 2010 Singha fast serve contest last year. I was kinda reminiscing about how crazy that entire day was, but I ended up using the video to make a little movie on the movie maker on the computer. I had originally made a longer video and saved it, but somehow it got messed up and I had to start from scratch again.
The original video had additional information and content about the players I met behind the scenes, but this new one i made just shows the meat of the serve contest. (well, my participation anyways).
This is how that story goes, I lived in MD at the time and traveled all the way to Virginia Beach (which is 3 hrs away) to join the qualifying fast serve event at some district championships out there. There weren't that many people at the serve event I went to, but VA Tennis does events through out that state to get participants. They take the top fastest servers and invite them to Legg Mason for free to have then compete against the other top servers. My husband and I were qualifying finalists, so we were invited to the final contest.
I practiced every day for a few weeks on my serve technique, making sure I had direct contact with the ball and it was going in. I was trying to keep my first serve percentage up and of course make sure they were in the court.
It rains a lot in MD, so it was unfortunately raining the entire day of the contest. The contest was delayed, because it was a huge down pour. Everyone who worked there that day were busy drying off courts so matches could commence. Finally, at the end of the evening, 1 hr before Roddick and Simon take the court..we started the fast serve contest. You'll have to watch the video to see what happened. :)
