When columnist Des Kelly teased Murray about Scotland's absence from the 2006 World Cup, Murray, unaware of the consequences, scacastically said, “I'll be supporting anyone but England.” Unfortunately, another journalist fabricated a story out of the comments suggesting Murray was anti-English, Des Kelly subsequently has pleaded with the public not to take the comments out of context.
