Great book and I am glad I was lucky enough to choose him as a boyhood hero.

Most definitely. His father was a cruel and uncaring man. There was only one thing that drove Mike Agassi - to groom a tennis champion. He did not care if he hurt Andre or his other siblings in the process. Hopefully Mike will realize before he is done on this planet what it means to be a caring father. (For the record, Mike did appear to soften at the end of Andre's career)

A close friend of mine shared this beautiful thought about being a dad. He told me, "Paul, do you know the literal meaning of the word father is?" I said no. He explained, "Protector." My responsibility as a father changed a lot that day.

That sounds great. I heard that the first few chapters are about his childhood and it is difficult to read about his dad - did you find that to be true?

Yes sir. Took me about 4 days and loved every triumph, success, defeat, and giving moment. Got me motivated in trying to help those with less.
