Nike Air Zoom Tennis Trainer - McEnroe redux

I wore the originals back in the 80's, they looked a little different and weren't the most durable, but they were super comfortable and I loved the look. The next gen of these came out in 2004 and retailed for $110. These will be at $80 (nice) and it has Johnny Mac's face embroider on the tongue.

Oh Wow, you remember those too?
I wonder what ever happened to those shoes.
They were mostly for kids though, right?

I would love a pair of the old canvas Asahi sneakers. Size 13? Doubtful...:)

Wow, that color scheme does not look like something from the 80s! I thought the "old" one shown was the 2004 pair. Very cool - I guessed I missed them somehow - walking around in my 20 dollar Asahi shoes - anyone, anyone?

The ones I had looked just like the "old" version in the post - gray, black and white w/ green in the logos. It used to be a microsuedish material, not sure what the new ones are. They're cross trainers, so tennis and whatever else you want I suppose.

So cool! Great post Bob. Was the original design a red and blue affair? Can't recall. The new pair looks like a suede. Final question: are these made for tennis or walking the streets looking cool? or both?
