A step closer to history was made at the Italian Open this past weekend as the Bryan Brothers picked up their eighth different Masters shield. This got me to thinking, are they two of the greatest male players of all time? They have a wider range of major titles than almost anyone. I think so, and here's why. I'm taking a poll, too: Feel free to vote if you agree or disagree.

Hi Mark, sorry it's taken me so long to respond: Crazy work week! Anyway, not to sound too outlandish, but if the Bryans were to win Indian Wells and the Olympics, thereby picking up every major title the game has to offer, wouldn't that transcend being just doubles players?

Michael Jordan winning a college championship, NBA titles and Olympics Gold defines him by many as one of the greatest athletes ever. Why couldn't the same be said of the Bryans?

It is definitely amazing what the Bryans have done/ can do. They are among the best doubles players ever - I voted for option 3. There's just nothing that compares with struggling out there by yourself for 5 sets.
