Tennisopolis : Tennis Social Network

So, we had beautiful weather here yesterday. I dragged a friend over to the courts so that I could practice what I have been learning from all the wonderful people on this site! (and by the way, thankyou!) Well, at first, I had so many new things in my head that I think I overwhelmed myself...okay, I am a natural blond and that does happen alot! Anyway, instead of trying to force every move to be perfect, which only made me stiff and unable to respond well, I just took one thing at a time and worked on it. I tried not to force anything, and I tried not to overthink every little move. Well, after a somewhat rough start, some things started to come together. All of a sudden, the ball and I became friends and worked with eachother instead of against eachother. It was such an amazing feeling. Even though I know that my technique lacks alot, I do feel like I am actually developing a technique. My friend tired out and had to leave, but there was another person who had no one to hit with, so we started playing. I was really intimidated at first because she plays on teams, but when it was all said and done, I think I held my own out there! She actually asked for my number so that we could play again sometime. That totally made my day! I am so addicted to this sport and my only regret is that I did not start playing when I was younger! Oh well, live and learn!

So cool to hear about this outing. Nice that you are developing a technique as you say. Did your new friend join Tennisopolis?

I think you are getting to be a pro at this Amy! good for you. I have been told by my pro friends that I need to relax and one step at a time. Dont rush it to simply whack the ball - but eyes on the ball and to breath when I swing. :-)
