Jelena Jankovic was spotted by "Blic" magazine crew on Tuesday morning at “Olimp” sports centre in Belgrade. Accompanied only by her coach Ricardo Sanchez Jelena were practicing at the centre’s “Novak 1” and “Novak 2” hard surface courts.

The session comes as only the second brief training practice after the knee injury she sustained at Wimbledon. Jankovic first tried out her shots on Monday evening, and then repeated the session on Tuesday.

"If you had happened to walk past the “Olimp” sports centre in Belgrade on Tuesday morning, you would have been shocked to see the world’s number two women’s tennis player in the world Jelena Jankovic train in plain view at the centre’s “Novak 1” and “Novak 2” hard surface courts."
- writes in "Blic" newspapers.

"Jelena has showed that miracles do happen, as a tennis star of Jankovic’s calibre had opted to train at the city’s public tennis courts, named after another Serbian star. With no bodyguards in sight, accompanied by her coach Ricardo Sanchez, Jelena stepped on the turf of the “Olimp” centre’s jogging track graciously. Jankovic welcomed Blic crew to her training session and in her professional world, as we bring glimpses of Serbia’s tennis star’s one off-season training day. There was little time for talk, as JJ had come to test her limits ahead of her Wednesday’s trip to the USA. She got down to business straight away, while eager onlookers, joggers and Vozdovac football academy students watched in disbelief."

Jelena will next play tournament in Los Angeles next week and could take over the position number one, on condition Svetlana Kuznetsova does not win the Los Angeles WTA event next week.
Last year’s winner at the $600,000 tournament in California Ana Ivanovic will miss out on the competition, which will cost her 275 WTA points. Jankovic has been named seed number one and will start her campaign in the second round. The schedule means Jankovic will have collected the overall number of WTA points of 3,561, while her compatriot Ivanovic will therefore drop to 3,553. The shifting of the points balance in the WTA rankings will mean Jankovic gets to take over the position number one from Ivanovic.
