Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
I'm into all sports. I'm ambidextrous, an art and design fan, working out, following the news, and what not. Avid reader of the economist, and interesting books if i have the time. A recent UC grad... now just working and putting off a career in graphic design because I still want to travel and explore my options.
So... I use an N-six-one (95) and Hyper prostaff 6.1 with polyon sp strings.
I've taught tennis in the past, informally, and have helped coach here and there. Ideally I'm looking to hit with decent players who're at or around college level (4.0+). But I'm down to hit with beginners if they're in the fremont/newark area.
Favorite pro tennis player(s):
Sampras, Federer, Safin, Davenport, Hantuchova
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
Pretty damn good., Not bad., NTRP 4.0, NTRP 4.5, If tennis is on TV - I am watching.
On the court, I am a:
chip-n-charger, doubles partner, singles player, serve-n-volleyer, one-hander, top-spinner, all courter
My favorite local courts:
Fremont Tennis Center, looking into San Pablo courts in Ashby and Washington Park courts in Alameda, Laney College in Oakland, any court in Fremont or Newark.
I played at the Fremont Mission high school courts a few times and at the Dyer Street courts also. I can play anywhere near the Fremont, UC, Newark area. Let me know if you want to hit sometime.
Wonderful. At that time I went, I was ahead in school and so I chose not to take any classes and focused on playing hardcore tennis for at least 6 hours a day. Its a great place if you are really passionate at tennis because they teach you all the right strategies and techniques, but it is also VERY expensive so I couldn't afford staying too long. Are you thinking of going there?
