I am a:
Casual Player
Neighborhood or other helpful location info:
Raleigh, NC
Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
Computer geek by day...well, computer geek by night as well. But love competitive sports and just plain having fun. I haven't played tennis in about 15 years. I "think" I'm about a 2.5 player but it's hard to say having been out of it for so long. I had no clue what NTRP was until joining this site and having to look it up because I was scratching my had at the numbers people were quoting. I'm not too serious about rules and scoring because my main goal with tennis is to get in some exercise that is more fun than jogging. Of course if folks want to keep score I'm fine with that too...but I might need a quick refresher. :)

Ok, was trying to brush up on my tennis and found some helpful videos:

Favorite pro tennis player(s):
Honestly I don't really watch tennis...I've always preferred playing sports to watching them. It's more fun that way.
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
I'm getting there., NTRP 2.5, What's NTRP?, Don't know my what my rating is.
On the court, I am a:
doubles partner, singles player, one-hander, double faulter, gracious loser
My favorite local courts:
Carolina Pines...because it's close by
Relationship status:
Married

Hey Son, Let me know if you'd be interested in playing sometime. I'm not sure what my rating is...I'm new to tennis, but am looking for some people to play tennis with on a regular basis. I usually play at the Millbrook Exchange park.

Hey Son. I left a message on the group wall for ya. I just signed up for Tennisopolis and found you on there. Wanted to see if you wanted to get together to hit sometime this week. I'm about a 2.5-3.0, but I haven't played in 8 months and I'm looking to get back into it. I live in Raleigh off of Creedmoor and am new to the area so I'm looking for new people / places to play tennis.

Very much a computer geek too, so we'll have something to chat about between sets.

Hi! Welcome to the "community-based" tennis social network which connects tennis players, fans, coaches, and you.

What can you do here?
At Tennisopolis, you can:
- meet other players. Here's a primer on how to find partners.
- join a Group. Members have started over 190 Local Groups (and other types of Groups too.) Search for one in your area, or start your own.
- follow the pros. There are over 500 blog posts on Tennisopolis. Have a good read, or write your own.
- improve your game. Get tips in the Forum and check out video lessons.
- post your own Videos or embed your favorites from youtube.
- add your own Photos.
- and just hang out and connect with great people.

To get started, please upload a photo or avatar for yourself (if you haven’t already.) Whether it's of you, your dog, or your racquet it doesn't matter, but it helps people remember you. You can also personalize Your Page with pictures, links, RSS feeds, colors and more here.

Thanks to everyone inviting their friends, we now have over 10,000 members and we're growing by 100 new members a day. Invite yours too!

If you need any help, let me know.
M
