very good watch all the videos you can slow then down so you can see the footwork. in media player go to play click slow, analyze the movement and techniques.you will be able to network with a lot of players in your class too! don't giveup and stop go to the end you will gain a lot by staying close and proving the things you need to understand to yourself. Tennis.com is good for written instructions.i got friends who are finally working from this same process and they are teaching themselves things they should have learned 20 years ago and the princple of learning apply here just like everywhere else.one basic thing you want to do is come up with a working definition of WHAT IS TENNIS? from what you know and what you heard and what you think and prove the realiabilty over time of your definition. its going to change hear and there but never will your focusing process be side tracked and is a higher level of the game than causal and recreational tennis. its rooted in the passionate level.i wish i could layout some the struggles i had before i became passionate about the game.email me there are video i can not upload on this page, they just don't allow anything that has been cut from your personal files.

a tennis class at a college is general level at best 101, you will learn exactly one thing how to get to the class and what time the class starts. you are bunched in a crowd hopeing to learn something. you need tennis specific knowledge if you want to learn the game. college has 2 levels of tennis. the schools team and the general and the advanced class which is a chance to continue what you startedin 101, but nothing else. at best it keeps you busy at the game the more you do the less you learn.you can be fumbling aroud at the game for many years. before you reach the point of doing something are just givingup.if i can tell you one think take it to heart, learn the things you need to know at the begaining and get better at them things the basics.we say we learned tennis but we don't know how to play the game.so watch those videos dont follow the ball, look at the person getting ready to recieve the ball.you going to see things maybe you have not considered yet, thats the nuts and bolts of the game. on avg the ball travels from one end to the other in 1.38 seconds 78 feet, that all the time you have and thats what makes the game great.the ability to defeat your self and make the  correct move that will get you into position to return the ball. keep track of this for surely it will enlighten your outlook and allow you to make progress and help you to master the dance.

There are courts near my residential community in Richmond (Marina Bay).  I believe they are free.  I wouldn't mind hitting a few with you: ncbogusmail @ gmail.com.  I'm not a beginner, but very rusty...so I could use the exercise.

i forgot your RATING IS 3.0 that's the competitive level for USTA tournaments 1.0-2.5 is considered beginning. but 1.0-2.5 is KNOWLEDGE of what the game is more than how to play.

yea! san pablo park is my home courts for all USTA matches. well thats very good, you are active and in the game. yes i can help any person who has more than a passing interest in the game.there is a number of things you can do to really start getting the knowledge you need. first you need a file converter, it converts video and most any kind of file to what ever format you want. if you don't have download one from cnet.com/downloads, any video converter works ok, next got go utube.com and download your favorite players in their match, mind is Serena and there is a lot to see and pickup from the professionals. view it as a player based on the knowledge you have not a fan. you will begin to see things in the process. ok another good court is Albany High.but they don't have a wall. i spent hours at DVC another fine place to play with plenty of courts even on days when lots of players are there, the parking is a pain $3.00 no way around that its that are a $40.00 ticket on school days.CHECK OUT THE utube videos any problems gup74@hotmail.com
