Adding to the list, there are nice courts at Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks War Memorial Park just north of Riverside/Hazeltine.

Well the best courts I've found out here (that are free at least) are at North Hollywood park. 6 lighted courts, and a good group of people out there, they try to keep a few for challenge courts, but there's usually a couple open unless you hit it up in the evenings when it can get pretty busy. You can usually find someone to hit with though. It's on Tujunga and Magnolia.
