I used to be a decent intermediate player during my twenties but have not played in the past 15 years until starting again recently. My game is still rusty but I'm down in Palm Springs for the next month, hope to play as much as possible during that time, and should be available most days at any point between 4 - 10 pm. I'm staying at Indian Palms (border of La Quinta/Indio near the polo clubs) which has decent lit courts and I can also drive elsewhere if it's more convenient. Are you up for a game?
Best regards,
Owen

Plan on a few hits a week from today, Desert Horizons CC, 7:30 AM. I'll call the gate to let them know of your arrival. As you pass the front, you go straight ahead a few hundred yards, parking and courts on your left. Your courts are probably nicer, but these are nice and quiet. More of a golf community vs. tennis. Put it on your calender, but if anything comes up, let me know of course. Pierre, don't forget to bring water, they've turned the water off at the courts for some reason??? OK, looking forward, have a great week! Mike
I'm an early riser, but not quite that early!! We can certainly hit in the am, but would you also be interested in hitting later in the day, say around 6 pm? Reason I ask is that our courts are completely shaded at that time. Temps might be warm, but you won't be running in the sunshine. That would be here, at DHCC. In La Quinta, you're probably in the sun all day long? Just a thought, let me know. If you prefer the early am hours, I'd be game for a 7:30 start, altho I don't think Cameron at the front gate would be awake at 6 am??? Either day is good. I wouldn't worry too much about the quality of tennis, just getting out and hitting is good fun for myself. At my stage, I'm hitting the ball about 20%. At my age, if I can get to around 60% of my previous level, I'd be a happy camper. Whenever we get on court these days, it's generally 20 minutes on court, 30 minutes off court, talking...hope that doesn't sound too boring! Yikes!

Good to hear from you. Yes, let's plan on hitting a few. I played some this morning with a buddy that lives at our CC. We're about the same level, Stu played at Stanford (many years ago), I played at UCSB (also many years ago...). Haven't hit the ball much since the early 1990's, started up again in 2007, took another hiatus until last year. Where am I level wise? Stu is a 5.0, plays fairly regularly at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. I keep up with him, so I'd say I'm close to his ability. I don't take tennis too seriously anymore, my body is worn from years on the hard court. Still have lot's of fun tho. I can make the drive to La Quinta, we have decent courts where I live, Desert Horizons Country Club in Indian Wells. Heading home to Seattle in a few weeks, then back for the season. Let me know what your schedule looks like. Hope to meet up before the crowds set in. Thx. Pierre. Mike
