- Been stringing racquets since 1929. Have been doing tennis string research since 1970. My testing Lab. is a part of my home with several thousand dollars invested in equipment to investigate any mechanical property found in tennis string. I do "Time and Motion Studies" on racquet stringing to evaluate time differences in production stringing vs. custom stringing. Latest string research is involved with machine tensions vs. playing tensions for dissimilar combinations of string, and investigating what orientation of string can do before stringing and during stringing.
