Random things about me (hobbies, occupation, tennis history, favorite band, etc.):
I started playing at 28, and climbed the ladder to about 5, maybe more, but illnesses (no injuries), have got me out of shape to probably 4?. I believe I'm now good to go, at 52 - and I'd like to play at least twice a week in order to get back to where tennis is "fun" again - The ball's in your court!
P.S. I have recently relocated to Lutz for the time being & I'm looking for some PLAYERS...
Favorite pro tennis player(s):
Sampras, Federer, and all one-handers (which I always thought would win the battle of styles over time) who are tough mentally, and Roger has finally proven that he can dig deep when pressured, but he still has to beat the incredible two-hander Nadal in Grand Slam Final total wins (preferably other than just Wimbledon), to unquestionably be the greatest.
UPDATE: Fed missed his chance, game over - he no longer has a chance against the big boys with the big racquets. Until now I always believed Sampras was the toughest mentally, but as long as Nadal's confidence and/or body holds out - he is probably the toughest mentally in any sport of all time!, including Jordan, Montana, and Woods in their prime! Without even being an overly imposing physical specimen, he has a monster heart! He simply can not be beaten, or even challenged since he's found a serve - & it will get better, and as long as he doesn't take a break or get married - he will be the best of all time...
My tennis skill (please check your NTRP if you know it):
Not bad, If tennis is on TV - I am watching
On the court, I am a:
rightie, doubles partner, singles player, all courter
My favorite local courts:
I'm from Sarasota, and I've played most clay courts there. In Clwt/Largo though, I've mainly played Coachman and Highland, which have good lights, and schools and complexes, but I would like to get back once in a while on the clay at Mcmullen!
