Actually, I just read that if Nole makes the final, he's number one no matter what Rafa does.

OK, that was what I was thinking.  This could be huge - but it means that Rafa would have to lose to Fish or Murray (or Lopez).  We shall see.

If Nole makes it to final and Rafa doesn't, Nole becomes #1 in the world.  Rafa has to defend his points since he won Wimbledon last year.

What is the official point scenario?  I know if he wins W, he moves to number 1.  But what if he makes the final and Rafa doesn't?  What then?
