Why *NOT* To Post Your Email On Public Websites

Hi Tennisopolites!

Are you familiar with email harvesting? Check it out on Wikipedia. Basically you don't want to post email addresses on any public website including this one. Same thing with phone numbers. The best way to communicate with other members here is to leave a note on their page, or add them as a friend. (They will get an email notification when you do this.) Once someone has added you as a friend, you two can private message all day long.

Of course, you may exchange your contact information in private messages if you wish. That is your perogative, however we strongly recommended using the communication tools in Tennisopolis and keeping your phone numbers and email addresses private.

Like any public website, we get our fair share of spammers and email / phone number harvesters. To protect our membership, you may notice that this information will be edited from a public page by a Tennisopolis Moderator.

Thanks for being a Tennisopolis member and remember, have fun on the courts!

Mark, Mr. Mayor

You are welcome Keith. Many people are unaware of this as I can tell from seeing so many phone numbers and email addresses posted all over tennisopolis. The best bet is to use the private messages or just post on people's walls. That's the beauty of Tennisopolis - you don't have to give away all your contact information.
Have fun out there!

More evidence that phone numbers are not good to share in public places:
